Toshiba TDP-S25U Projector Delivers Affordable Performance and Bright Images in Virtually Any Environment
IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- March 1, 2005 -- At $999(a), DLP Projector Features 1800 ANSI Lumens and 2000:1 Contrast Ratio
Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. and provider of industry-leading portable computers, projectors and other mobile-related services and products, today introduced the TDP-S25U projector, a high-performance, portable presentation tool for educators, mobile professionals, corporate users and small-to-medium-sized businesses priced affordably at $999(a).
The TDP-S25U features a lightweight design and is ideal for use in virtually any room size. Its DLP(TM) (digital light processing) technology enables bright, high-quality images with 1800 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio and native SVGA 800x600 resolution.
In addition to its no-compromise display, the TDP-S25U includes a range of multimedia capabilities and connectivity options such as composite, component and S-video inputs and audio in/out capabilities. A monitor output connector allows users to view presentations from an external display, in addition to what is projected on the screen. This feature allows presenters to face their audience directly, rather than turning around to read slides as they appear on the screen. Users can also connect the projector to a standard cable connection or DVD player, making it a multi-use projector that is ideal for both business and entertainment.
"The TDP-S25U is designed to be a cost-effective projector that offers superior brightness and functionality in its price category," said Alex Ijuin, assistant general manager for Toshiba DPD's Projector Business Unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.
Weighing only 6.6 pounds, users can easily transport the projector in between classrooms, offices or when traveling. The TDP-S25U sports a sleek, eye-catching exterior that is constructed of a metallic silver casing for a professional look and feel.
The TDP-S25U incorporates user-friendly features, including one-touch auto set up, keystone correction and a fully loaded remote control to ensure worry-free, professional presentations. Users simply plug the projector in and can begin making presentations.
With a whisper quiet fan that runs at approximately 33 dBA (decibel adjusted) in low mode, the projector will not distract the audience.
The Toshiba TDP-S25U is available immediately with a suggested retail price of $999(a). All Toshiba projectors are available through Toshiba's enterprise sales team and authorized distributors, dealers, VARs, retailers or mail-order outlets, and at www.toshibadirect.com. -0- *T Toshiba TDP-S25U projector: Model TDP-S25U Display Technology Shape 0.55" DMD DLP(TM) No. of Pixels 480,000 (800 x 600) Projection Lens Standard Lens 1.2x manual zoom/manual focus F/f (mm) F = 2.0 - 2.2, f = 18.2 - 21.84mm Light Source 180W (144W in low mode) Brightness 1800 ANSI lumens Native Resolution SVGA 800 x 600 Color Reproduction Full 16.7 Million Colors Contrast Ratio 2000:1 Projection Screen Size (Diagonal) 30 - 300 inches Projection Distance 3.8 ft - 33 ft Throw Ratio 1.6 - 1.94:1 Compatible Scanning Horizontal Frequency (kHZ) 15 - 93kHz Vertical (Hz) 50 - 85Hz Video 1x RCA, 1x S-Video Input Terminals Color 1x mini D-sub 15, shared with RGB Difference signal 1x stereo mini-jack, 2x RCA for Audio Video, 2x RCA for S-video RGB 2 x D-sub 15 Video NTSC, PAL, SECAM Input Signal Format Color HDTV/DTV (480p/480i/720p/1080i), Difference DVD VGA, SVGA, XGA (compressed), SXGA (compressed), UXGA (compressed), RGB MAC Output Terminals Audio 1x stereo mini-jack RGB 1x RGB Keystone Correction Digital +/- 15 degrees Noise Level 37dBA (33dBA in low mode) Internal Speaker 1.0W Monaural PC Interface RS232C (mini DIN-8 pin) External Dimensions (WxDxH) 11.2" x 10.0" x 3.8" Weight 6.6 lbs.
