Netronome to Address Network Security Vulnerabilities Created by SSL
LONDON --(Business Wire)-- Netronome Systems, Inc., a leading developer of highly programmable semiconductors that provide intelligent and secure flow processing in network and communications devices, today announced that the company's director of product management, Daniel Proch, will present at the RSA Conference Europe 2008 on Monday, October 27, at ExCel London. Netronome is also exhibiting at the RSA conference and will be demonstrating the Netronome SSL Inspector(TM), the industry's highest-performance transparent SSL proxy.
In his presentation, Enterprise Hidden Threats Exposed - Inspecting Encrypted Communications, Proch will discuss how enterprises and government agencies are increasingly susceptible to new network-based threats and undetected data loss where both occur hidden within SSL traffic. He will explore why SSL-encrypted communications have become a hacker's favorite attack vehicle to infiltrate corporate computing resources, as well as how common network security devices are unable to fully perform their intended function. The session provides an overview of the ways hackers can bypass existing security mechanisms, and introduces viable solutions to overcome these threats by providing visibility into SSL.
"Network security professionals are aware of the rise in the number of Web-based and other business applications using SSL and they are becoming increasingly concerned that these encrypted communications are bypassing their typical security appliances," said Proch. "With the incredible growth of SSL-encrypted traffic as a percentage of overall data use, we feel the topic is very timely and will focus the presentation on how SSL can adversely affect their network security architectures."
About the Products Being Demonstrated
The demonstration will highlight how the Netronome SSL Inspector Appliance improves network security by exposing real-world threats that are hidden within SSL-encrypted flows to existing security appliances, enabling them to offer the same level of protection against threats that they do for non-SSL traffic. This ensures that attacks such as spam, spyware, viruses, data theft and other forms of cyber crime can now be correctly detected, where they currently fail to be identified by network and security appliances. Netronome's demonstration can be seen at Stand #25 at the RSA Europe 2008 conference, October 27-29, 2008. For more information about the RSA Conference Europe 2008, visit www.rsaconference.com/2008/Europe.
