MINISTRY OF SOUND: Ministry of Sound relaunches website with full e-commerce functionality
Oct 27, 2008 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
London, UK: Global dance music, club and lifestyle brand, Ministry of Sound, today announced the relaunch of its flagship website ministryofsound.com, to coincide with the release of this year's definitive dance music compilation aEUR~The Annual 2009'.
The redesigned site features a simplified, minimal design combined with full transactional functionality, enabling Ministry of Sound to sell its entire range of branded music (CD and digital download) and merchandise products, plus tickets for club events direct to consumers for the first time.
The new site has been built on a modified version of Trinity St's e-commerce platform, with front-end design by digital creative agency, Delete. A backend data warehousing and eCRM system developed in house enables Ministry of Sound to track and profile customers preferences and cross sell relevant music, events, merchandise and licensed product from across its brand portfolio which includes HedKandi, Global Underground, Euphoria and HARD2BEAT.
The site is the first to feature an integrated shopping basket enabling customers to purchase both physical and digital goods in the same transaction, such as a CD, t-shirt, e-ticket and download. To further simplify the usability of the website, Ministry of Sound has taken the bold decision to remove third party advertising to create a purely product focused Ministry of Sound experience.
Ministry of Sound selected multi-channel retail experts Biglight to project manage the development and integration of the new site.
Rudy Tambala, Head of Internet & Innovation, Ministry of Sound, commented: "For too long we have allowed third party retailers to be the sole guardians of the relationships with our consumers."
"Today's relaunch of ministryofsound.com is central to our strategy to establish direct relationships with our customers whilst also having control over the price, promotion and fulfilment of our products and events."
"We've worked closely with the industry's most dynamic and experienced agencies to create a retail proposition which reflects our brands innovative approach, and we'll be looking to replicate this model for our other brands over the next 12 months."
