NTT-IT and VRMeetings Launch MeetingPlaza as a SaaS Solution

New Trend Technologies IT Services (NTT-IT) and its partner, VRMeetings announced the launch of MeetingPlaza, an advanced Web and video conferencing solution as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)). This will be available on the Internet for a low monthly or annual license fee.

“Our new MeetingPlaza SaaS is designed for small- and medium-sized companies to connect with customers, geographically disbursed stakeholders and multiple offices. It allows organizations maximum flexibility for teleworkers, telecommuters and home based businesses,” said Ryan Francis, director of marketing, VRMeetings.

MeetingPlaza offers a combination of high quality VoIP, high resolution video and instant messenger, as well as collaborative tools for creating a virtual presence. This will resemble a traditional office for participants as it avoids employee accountability, isolation and other problems present generally in teleworking.

Rick Miller, VRMeetings CTO, explained that MeetingPlaza as a SaaS has been used for more than six years by NTT-IT employees, who are experienced engineers.

The company decided to launch MeetingPlaza as a SaaS now, due to the rise in businesses and houses with access to the Internet with the required bandwidth.

MeetingPlaza needs a low bandwidth of only 25-35 Kbps per audio/visual stream. It is a certified solution of AT&T (News - Alert) Wireless, allowing it to work over wireless networks and wireless cards. Users can enhance their experiences with cable, DSL or wireless connections.

MeetingPlaza is essentially a “business productivity” tool bringing together voice, data, video and interactive tools like application sharing, text chat, Web sharing, file sharing and record and replay functions. This single unified product as a SaaS offering is available over the public Internet, wireless networks or corporate intranets.

A single session of MeetingPlaza can include 32 meeting participants besides being capable of including about 3,000 participants for large conferences and Webinars. As a fully integrated solution, it needs no software downloads or third-party software. Its encryption levels allow complete encryption of voice, data and video for achieving safe and secure collaboration.

No special equipment, telephone lines or conference bridges are required for implementing the MeetingPlaza solution making it a highly suitable cost-effective alternative to traditional solutions.

“MeetingPlaza is designed to connect teleworkers, telecommuters, salespeople and companies with geographically disbursed workforces. We help companies to eliminate travel, reduce costs associated with rising fuel costs and promote social responsibility through reductions in emissions and environmental pollutants” explained Mike Cormier, VRMeetings, CEO.

He added that video conferencing when used alone, has limited value. Interactive collaboration tools combined with video enables companies to realize more ROI as in MeetingPlaza. The solution allows greater collaboration and performance of real business tasks and also allows viewing each other via high quality video.
