OpSource and NTT Form Strategic Partnership

Santa Clara, California-based OpSource has entered into a strategic partnership with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) in a bid to accelerate the adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)).

“NTT’s managed hosting infrastructure, global IP network, and worldwide reach will allow OpSource to expand its Web operations offering to enterprises in the US and abroad,” said Treb Ryan, CEO at OpSource.

OpSource delivers Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Web applications for on-demand companies. Japan-based NTT is a telecommunications provider offering fixed and mobile voice related services, Internet protocol (IP)/packet communications services and system integration services.

In the U.S, OpSource “Application Operations” and “Business Operations” services will initially be offered on top of NTT’s managed hosting and global IP network as part of the deal.

A suite of services, OpSource Application Operations provides “in-depth” management and support of composite application from initial deployment through production release and ongoing growth.

Business Operations are a suite of services and solutions designed to drive the success of Web delivered applications, and also improve customers speed to market and “top line” growth.

The Business Operations includes OpSource Billing CLM, an end-to-end subscription management, metering, and payment solution. This solution is available both as standalone and as part of OpSource On-Demand.

Additional services include OpSource Connect, OpSource End User Support, and OpSource Analytics. OpSource Connect is a Web services infrastructure and integration toolset, enabling application integration in the "Cloud" and behind the corporate fire-wall.

Later, the companies said they plan to offer a Web operations solution - OpSource On-Demand. Both the companies are expected to sell the service. The solution combines technical operations, application operations and business operations into an integrated Web operations solution, said officials.

With OpSource On-Demand, SaaS and Web companies can deliver their applications and services over the Web to consumers and also businesses. Unlike full featured managed hosting, this solution features application management, compliance and business services.
