SaaS Program Extends SpinVox Global Speech Cloud Services

London-based voice to content messaging company SpinVox is teaming with IBM (News - Alert) Software as a Service (SaaS) Specialty program to deliver global speech cloud services to partners, carriers and enterprise customers, according to the company.

A major player in the voicemail transcription space, SpinVox (News - Alert) deploys its speech-to-text services as a managed service from the company’s data centers which are built on IBM servers, storage and middleware products.

The Armonk, New York-based IBM offers SpinVox, as well as companies of all sizes, these hardware, software and infrastructure technologies to help deliver a more secure and scalable cloud services.

The idea behind the SaaS cloud services is to move from a traditional software delivery model to one that offers a mix of on-premise and cloud computing applications using IBM technology. The advantage of cloud computing are growing as fast as the technologies including creating the ability to design, build, market, and deliver services that enable clients to access their applications from virtually any location.

"SaaS is one of the fastest growing segments of the IT industry because it provides companies of all sizes with access to innovative solutions delivered remotely via a subscription model," said Dave Mitchell, director of strategy, IBM Developer Relations.

As SpinVox continues to expand its enterprise footprint further into Unified Communications (News - Alert) services space, it has leaned on IBM. The IBM SaaS program is now providing the company with increased resources to meet the growing global demand of enterprise users in the voicemail space.

"We are seeing tremendous growth in our enterprise customer base, all of whom demand, and have come to expect, from SpinVox an ‘always on’ service experience," said SpinVox co-founder and CEO, Christina Domecq. "SpinVox’s commitment to SaaS can deliver its customers a powerful way to further reduce implementation costs and continue rapid deployment and availability of business applications."

SpinVox has making a lot of news as of late. Tom Keating, CTO, vice president and founder of TMC (News - Alert) Labs, last month detailed the news that Skype (News - Alert) users can now have their voicemails converted into text via SpinVox. SpinVox announced in March that Skype voicemails could be transcribed and sent to users via SMS.
