XO Communications, provider of advanced communications services and solutions for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers, has reportedly launched XO Connect, a multi-modal mass communication service for the commercial market.

 

XO Communications (News - Alert) partnered with Blackboard Inc., a global provider of education technology and notification services, to offer XO Connect. This new application allows businesses and large enterprises to communicate to employees, or other key audiences, wherever they may be, especially in urgent situations when real-time communications are essential, says the company.

 

Businesses can use XO Connect to send customized voice, e-mail and text messages to virtually any device during emergency situations such as hurricanes, tornados, and other weather-related events and also in day-to-day business operations including conferences, sales meetings and managing remote employees. It even allows groups to control and manage their users and send messages through an easy-to-use web interface or over the telephone.

 

Vince Margiotta (News - Alert), vice president of product marketing at XO Communications, said that XO Connect can deliver thousands of messages simultaneously to multiple communication devices so businesses can keep employees and other key stakeholders connected, informed and prepared.

XO Connect is a Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) application with no capital investment in hardware or software required. In addition, XO Connect offers unlimited messaging at a low annual subscription fee per employee. No charges are levied on calls, technical support, additional phone lines, maintenance or training, according to the company.
