Savvis, Inc., a provider of outsourced Internet infrastructure services for the enterprise, has reportedly signed a three year managed IT services agreement with Ricoh Americas Corporation for deploying DocumentMall, its Software-as-a-Service or, “SaaS” document management solution.

 

Ricoh (News - Alert) is a provider of digital office equipment and document solutions. The company is said to have chosen Savvis-managed IT service to better serve small to mid-sized enterprise customers.

 

SaaS (News - Alert) is a service that allows solutions to easily integrate into existing business workflows. It is said to eliminate the cost to purchase, implement and maintain a server-based document management solution and enables customers to decrease distribution costs like shipping and courier services by digitizing paper documents.

DocumentMall was introduced in 2001 as a cost-effective alternative to installing expensive computer hardware and hiring a dedicated IT staff for businesses needing to store, share and maintain critical documents. It enables customers to easily store, retrieve, manage and share electronic files and scanned paper documents, all with the help of the Internet.

 

Savvis’ SAS (News - Alert) 70 II audited facility, better serves in the control and safeguarding of DocumentMall’s customer documents. DocumentMall is hosted in Savvis’ Piscatway, N.J. data center featuring world-class facilities for power management, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, fire suppression and seismic engineering. It is also integrated with Savvis’ MPLS network and hosting footprint of 28 data centers globally.
