Sierra Wireless Enhances ACEnet Services Edition

The ACEnet Services use a software-as-a-service model to offer customers a secure hosted platform to comprehensively configure, control and manage their entire deployment of AirLink (News - Alert) devices using a standard Web browser.

ACEnet Services provide comprehensive remote management for unattended devices in field locations. They also provide customers with a fully functional enterprise-grade remote management platform that
Company officials say that the ACEnet Services edition is tightly integrated with ALEOS embedded intelligence, which powers the AirLink product line and provides session persistence, embedded machine protocols, extensive routing features, IP security among other important features.
A combination of ALEOS and ACEnet enables customers to monitor device status and performance on demand as well as configure and control their AirLink devices. They can achieve this by using a single interface from anywhere with Internet connectivity.
Thanks to the common software platform across the AirLink product line, IT teams can easily configure and manage all of their AirLink devices from a single interface. This is especially beneficial for customers with broad M2M implementations, as they can manage different types of devices with one application. This feature can significantly bring down cycle times and cost.
"Launching a comprehensive hosted ACEnet Services offering is an exciting and significant milestone for Sierra Wireless (News - Alert), our channel and our customers," said Justin Schmid, vice president of the Mobile and M2M Group for Sierra Wireless.
“This powerful, yet easy-to-use remote management service can help our customers quickly realize that objective and lower the total cost of ownership of their wireless M2M solutions."
According to company officials, the beta trials of ACEnet Services edition are underway. The company has included support for ACEnet Services with all currently shipping AirLink gateways and routers.
