Daptiv Sees Overseas Growth with Saas Model

Daptiv, a provider of on-demand business management software, announced solid international growth in 2009 for its Software-as-a-Service, or “SaaS” solutions, with nearly 40 percent of new customers positioned outside of the U.S.

More than 20 percent of Daptiv's overall customer base is headquartered internationally, the company said. And that number is growing. Nearly 50 percent of Daptiv's second quarter new customers are based overseas.

The demand largely comes from Latin America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Daptiv said. Key growth industries include professional services and consulting, financial services and insurance and the communications, media and entertainment sector.

International customers said Daptiv's affordable, flexible licensing model is a top advantage of the SaaS (News - Alert) model, as well its ease of use and configurability to manage various types of work and projects throughout an organization. The company’s customers include Interoute of the U.K., Boursorama and LaPoste of France, Grupo Caliente and Katcon of Mexico, Transport Canada, FVW Mediengruppe and Badensolar of Germany, and Virgin Blue Airways, Frontline Systems and The University of Sydney of Australia.

“Everyone, everywhere is feeling the pinch in this economy,” said Christian Smith, Daptiv vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. “Daptiv's dedication to delivering solutions on-demand gives organizations the benefit of easily piloting a solution and then quickly scaling it up and rolling it out company-wide. New customers can confidently streamline their processes and improve collaboration, whether their team is based in a single city, or is scattered across the globe.”

Daptiv PPM (News - Alert) offers support for multiple languages, browsers and computing platforms. Application settings such as time zone, currency and date format are available at the user level, across departments, so users work in the environment that is most comfortable to them.

The solution helped out Katcon, a supplier to the automotive industry headquartered in Mexico. Miguel Amado, engineering manager at Katcon, said the business depends on engineers continually developing new projects. But after creating product development technical centers, the company had little to no insight into how individual engineers fit into this process.

So company officials looked to Daptiv’s Saas solution for some help.

“With Daptiv we not only increased this visibility by 100 percent, we have also dramatically improved Katcon's ability to collaborate across multiple international offices,” Amado said in a statement. “Our offices in Mexico, Luxembourg and Michigan are now able to easily share and work together on projects in an easier, more measurable way.”
