NaviSite's Saas Hosting Solution Selected by Insurance Provider

Input 1, LLC, a provider of products and services to the insurance industry, reportedly has selected NaviSite's SaaS (News - Alert) hosting solution -- powered by VMware -- for its leading insurance industry application.

According to NaviSite officials, the company’s SaaS hosting, a multi-tenant solution that cost-effectively addresses requirements of small and medium-sized businesses, allows Input 1 to deliver its applications to a larger customer base.

NaviSite's (News - Alert) comprehensive solution includes several virtualized servers, shared high-availability load balancers, firewalls and backup solutions.

NaviSite's hosting platform is built on best-of-breed enterprise grade infrastructure, including HP blade technology and IBM (News - Alert) storage area networking (SAN), providing high reliability, security, and guaranteed performance that scales as the customer grows and requires additional resources.

Jeff Greenbaum, senior vice president and CIO of Input 1, said that the hosting solution is unique in that it allows the company to scale business with an infrastructure provider that is welcomingly received by customers.

“NaviSite's rapid implementation and flexible solution was the perfect platform for us to go to market with," said Greenbaum.

Sumeet Sabharwal, SVP, SMB Hosting, NaviSite said that ISVs are rapidly embracing the SaaS model, enabling them to deploy their software solutions to more customers, with better reliability and performance than on-premise or traditional colocation deployments.

Sabharwal said that NaviSite's comprehensive suite of solutions for ISVs includes consulting services, ranging from initial architectural planning for SaaS deployments to the development and testing of SaaS application changes required to deploy secure, reliable solutions on the company’s virtualized VMware server platforms or managed dedicated hosting solutions.
