WIND Selects Telepin Software as Solutions Provider

WIND, a telecommunications company, has selected Ottawa-based Telepin Software, a specialist in creating mobile financial applications including Mobile eTopUp, eVoucher and eBilling capabilities, as one of its solutions providers.

WIND officials said that Telepin is providing the company with its Cayman Transaction Platform to create the core platform of recharge services and transactional infrastructure.

"Our vision is to provide our customers with an unrivalled Canadian mobile experience," said Ken Campbell, chief executive officer of WIND.

Campbell said that several of the services the company will be providing to Canadians are readily available in other global markets but not currently through the competitors.

“Based on our own research we know that Canadians desire a more robust and consumer-centric service that allows flexibility in mobile top-up. With our international experience the WIND team will bring a different perspective and increased flexibility to core consumer offerings," said Campbell.

Globalive Wireless Management Corp. will provide voice, text and data services to Canadians under the brand name WIND on a next-generation wireless network.

WIND will usher in a new era of mobile communications by harnessing the power of conversation through meaningful engagement with customers to co-create a better mobile experience.

Staying on the map, WIND is currently on target to launch in key markets in late 2009 and will continue to launch services across Canada in 2010.

"We selected Telepin Software for its innovative, easy-to-use applications that will enhance the customer experience, one of the core pillars of WIND," said Campbell.

The company is particularly pleased to partner with a Canadian company that understands the global telecom community and is able to support in bringing services to Canada that other markets already enjoy.

"We are excited about the synergies between WIND and Telepin Software given their unique service proposition," said Vincent Kadar (News - Alert), president, Telepin Software.

Kadar said that, compared to many markets around the world, Canada is woefully underserved.

“We look forward to launching the service with WIND providing the Canadian market with a truly differentiated mobile service," said Kadar.
