MyFax, an independent business vertical and also a Software-as-a-Solution, or “SaaS (

Alert),” from
Protus IP Solutions, reportedly
announced its sponsorship of
Pro Bono Net, the non-profit organization that offers online assistance to lawyers and pro bono attorneys and provides legal assistance directly to the public.
The company claims that law professionals and their clients can send, receive, store or forward faxes securely without fax machines, dedicated fax/phone lines, long distance phone charges or fax modems. Subscribers can access their fax communications from anywhere, the same way they access their e-mail. Faxes can be received as PDF’s and users have unlimited storage of faxes online.
The company
claims that customers do not require fax specific phone lines or even fax machines because the unique service sends and receives faxes via email accounts. The immediate benefits are a reduced carbon foot print due to less power consumption, reduced bills for power and fax machine maintenance or upgrade, which is available as a SaaS.
“For years, legal professionals have relied on MyFax (

Protus, the provider of MyFax, said.
SaaS gives customers the
freedom to use and pay for only select components of their choice from software suites, and the flexibility to add other requisites as and when the need arises. Prior to this innovative customer driven request for “a use and pay when required only” approach, entire solutions had to be bought and installed at a significantly higher one-time cost.
In addition to this service, MyFax also offers a free service for users who need to send an occasional fax. MyFax Free offers a free fax service for users who need to send a fax only sometimes, which realistically translates to two faxes per day of up to 10 pages without having to set up an account or provide preferred payment method details such as credit card numbers.
“Too many people right now are facing serious problems – foreclosure, eviction, denial of benefits, domestic violence – without being able to afford legal assistance,” Mark O’Brien, executive director of Pro Bono Net, said. “The commitment of MyFax and our other corporate sponsors helps us continue to empower those who serve to make a difference, and those in need, to improve their lives.”
