Vetrazzo Generates Excellent Annual ROI Using Force.com

Roughly a year ago, Vetrazzo LLC had announced that it was leveraging Salesforce.com’s application development platform, Force.com, to run its business.

Recently, the company reported that it could deliver products five times faster at one-third the cost using Force.com platform instead of J2EE or .NET platform.

According to Salesforce.com (News - Alert), its Force.com enterprise cloud computing platform allows companies to quickly build and deliver business applications in the cloud, such as the database, unlimited real-time customization, powerful analytics, real-time workflow and approvals, programmable cloud logic, integration, real-time mobile deployment, programmable user interface and Web site capabilities.

With the help of custom-built applications using Force.com, Vetrazzo was able to generate 453 percent annual ROI and payback in just a period of two months. This result was reported by a case study that was conducted by industry analyst firm Nucleus Research.

According to Vetrazzo officials, the company leveraged Force.com to build custom solutions - for order management, inventory management, production planning and scheduling, raw materials management, shipping and logistics, document management and warranty management.

Rebecca Wettemann, vice president, research, Nucleus Research, said that using cloud computing platforms like Force.com for custom application development and delivery has proven to drive excellent ROI.

The company used Visualforce user interface technology to create an interface designed for staff in production and inventory management. The company’s enterprise resource planning, or “ERP,” was designed and deployed using the Force.com platform.

Company officials confirmed that Force.com applications were supporting its business module as it has single, central source for all critical business data that provides access to required information useful in making strategic business decisions.

The Claiborne Company, a sales Force.com consulting partner, worked with Vetrazzo to build the applications on Force.com.

With the help of Force.com platform, Vetrazzo was not only able to accelerate development five times than J2EE, but could also reduce shipping costs by nearly 20 percent. The company’s customer service productivity and customer satisfaction also increased.
