Colorado-based software and service solutions provider Escape Velocity Systems  reportedly announced the launch of its latest offering, the “Better Than SaaS (News - Alert) Model.”

 The “Better Than SaaS Model” provides Sage MAS 500 ERP and related services. The company felt the need to launch the product considering the changing trends in the market for ERP. EVS is committed to providing its clients with software solutions that are suited to their changing needs.  

The Software as a Service, or SaaS, model has grown leaps and bounds in its acceptability among industry peers during the recent years. This has been primarily due to the significant savings offered in entry and also in its recurrent infrastructure and operational expenditure. However, this has not been without its fair share of limitations.

 Conventional SaaS offerings have some major disadvantages. When an organization wishes to move to higher order software much of their information stored in its previous SaaS system will be either irretrievable or provided to them in a cryptic format. An enterprise also cannot bring the SaaS application into its own servers due to the specific constraints of the SaaS model. This results in a situation where the organization is virtually tied down to the SaaS application.

 “Now, organizations can have the full featured Sage MAS 500 ERP delivered to their desktop through the internet with no additional hardware required and pay a low monthly fee,” Evan Garber, president of EVS, said in a statement.  “In addition, data is secure in a SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type 2 environment with 100 percent uptime guarantee. However, unlike traditional SaaS, if a company chooses to install the ERP on their own servers, they have that option with this offering and they will experience absolutely no loss of data in the transition. “Thus, with the latest “Better Than SaaS Model” product enterprises will be able to leverage the advantages of SaaS minus the risks.”

The ERP data of an enterprise is extremely key and hence require to be preserved even when the company opts for a change in their technology platform.
