uRefer Signs Agreement with Online Tech

uRefer, a referral marketing Software-as-a-Service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” platform, has signed an agreement with Online Tech to host their SaaS referral platform in Online Tech's SAS (News - Alert)-70 certified data centers.

"We selected Online Tech as our SaaS hosting partner to meet the needs of our growing Fortune 500 customer base," Dick Beedon, founder of uRefer, said.

Beedon said that Online Tech's SAS-70 certification and world class data centers deliver the high level of assurance that the company’s web-based SaaS referral application will always be online and available to the customers.

URefer officials said, that as part of the agreement, Online Tech is delivering the entire SaaS hosting platform including fully managed hardware servers, 24x7 monitoring, operating system upgrades and complete management of any server issue that might arise.

Officials said that each of the company’s servers are housed in one of Online Tech's Tier 3 data centers designed to anticipate every potential power or network failures to eliminate the risk of any outage.

As a part of Online Tech's disaster recovery services, each server is backed up to a second data center over 50 miles away across Online Tech's private fiber network.

“Software-as-a-Service is quickly becoming the preferred delivery model for software, as seen by uRefer's rapid growth,” Mike Klein, president of Online Tech, said.

Klein said that uRefer is a great example how a SaaS company can leverage its data center partnership to focus on building on its innovative business solution, knowing that the underlying server infrastructure is reliable, cost-effective and completely managed.

Online Tech is one of the Midwest's premier managed data center operators.

Back in September Online Tech and Dataspace, an Ann Arbor-based business intelligence software and consulting firm that enables organizational transformation by designing and implementing decision support systems, had announced a partnership to benefit their respective clients.

As part of the agreement, Online Tech will be hosting a variety of business intelligence and data warehouse platforms in their data centers to support Dataspace’s offerings in vertical markets including insurance, health care, manufacturing and distribution.

In addition to packaged offerings, Dataspace can now offer the convenience of hosting custom solutions for those clients who have unique needs.
