ONYX Graphics, Inc. reportedly announced the availability of its ONYX PrintMetryx Software-as-a-Service platform of Web-based tools, which are designed to offer insight into wide format printing operations jobs.

 

The first two products based on this new platform is expected to help wide format print shops to manage their printing costs. The products include ONYX PrintMetryx JobView service, a tool used to track printing costs, and ONYX PrintMetryx In-House service, a subscription-based service. This helps in-house printing departments to reduce time and costs and enhance productivity.

 

“With this new family of SaaS (News - Alert) products, ONYX Graphics expands our portfolio to address the growing need of print providers to have on-demand access to information about their printing operations,” said Jeb Hurley, CEO of ONYX Graphics, in a statement. “Companies are bringing printing in-house to decrease print turnaround time and reduce costs, making accurate reporting of productivity and printing costs especially important.”

 

ONYX PrintMetryx JobView service will be available for free to customers who subscribe to ONYX Links service option along with the new version of ONYX RIP software version 7.3.2 packages, company officials said.

 

The JobView service helps print shop owners and production managers gain insight into printing operations on a daily basis. The print job will include a thumbnail image, information about the print job and costs for ink and media, the company said.

 

It also helps shops to track production trends like what is printed daily and which of the printers and media are used frequently. By tracking production trends the shop can enhance its productivity and make sure that materials are always available.

 

The ONYX PrintMetryx In-House service is a Web-based subscription service that delivers proof of production and reports on printing costs to indicate the value of in-house printing. Production managers can save time and costs as it helps them streamline print tracking and reporting. This makes report creation easy and fast. Work and cost information are displayed on visual dashboards which are customizable and they enable users to find a job and view its details.

 

The ONYX PrintMetryx platform shows how much a sign costs to print and how much is saved by printing the signs in-house instead of outsourcing the prints. The company develops and markets commercial printing software and solutions catering to the digital color printing requirement of companies.
