Simeio Solutions Debuts New Version of DirectAXs Identity SaaS

Helping customers to reduce the complexity of their identity IT infrastructure and operating expenses, Simeio Solutions has unveiled the newest version of its flagship DirectAXs Software-as-a-Service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” suite. DirectAXs integrates identity and access management, or “IAM,” and governance, risk and compliance, or “GRC,” capabilities into one hosted package and this can be used on pay-as-you-go subscription basis.

DirectAXs is available as an on premise service and as a remotely managed service. The On Premise service incorporates a series of pre-configured soft appliances which are delivered right to the customers. The Remotely Managed service offers a portfolio of hosted services which cover a comprehensive suite of Identity and IT-GRC Management offerings on an On-Demand basis.

According to Simeio Solutions, DirectAXs is suited for both small to medium-sized and large organizations with 500-50,000 users. The product includes three main components, namely, best-of-breed IAM and GRC products, the Identity Interceptor and the DirectAXs Admin Console. The Identity Interceptor connects to all applications for user provisioning, single sign on, role management and compliance, Simeio officials said.

Hemen Vimadalal, CEO, Simeio Solutions, said that traditional IAM implementations are process- and labor-intensive, which significantly drives up their costs.

“The specific skill sets needed to install these products come at a premium price,” Vimadalal said. “Sustainability is also an issue with ongoing operational costs such as support and hardware/software licensing.”

“Lastly, the disjointed products that make up typical implementations create a management headache,” he added.

DirectAXs provides features such as easy to use IAM capabilities, easy deployment process, latest software versions, directory services in the cloud, multi-tenant database schemas on Oracle (News - Alert) DB, customer specific encryption keys and 3DES encryption, and complete integration, management and reporting of your IAM implementation.

In June 2009, the company announced two consecutive quarters of record growth, reflecting significant increases in its revenue, customer base and market traction. The company gained over a dozen new clients in financial services, healthcare and entertainment, adding to an installed base that already includes Fortune 50 companies. Simeio also expanded its partner network via new agreements with industry leaders Novell (News - Alert), IBM and Oracle.
