MedAppz, a provider of Web-based electronic health record applications and practice management/billing solutions, and MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, reportedly have entered into a multiyear agreement to offer EHR software as a service solutions primarily to MedAssets’ non-acute, ambulatory healthcare provider customers through its group purchasing organization.

 

According to MedAppz officials, the agreement will combine the company’s iSuite EHR and physician practice tools, with MedAssets’ expertise in strengthening hospital, health system and physician financial efficiencies through improving operating margins and cash flow.

 

Company officials said that this GPO agreement is expected to help improve patient care, increase office efficiencies and reduce risks for both patients and healthcare providers.

 

“Today, MedAssets has added a compelling offering to our contract portfolio. Since electronic health records are so important to healthcare providers, we’re happy to offer MedAppz solutions to the more than 30,000 non-acute healthcare providers who utilize the MedAssets GPO,” said Mark Miriani, president, MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, in a statement.

Brian Lichtlin, CEO, MedAppz said that the company is delighted to partner with MedAssets.

The company officials said that the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology-certified MedAppz iSuite is a comprehensive system that allows ambulatory care practices to securely schedule appointments, chart patient information, write prescriptions, bill patients and file claims, while utilizing the compelling SaaS delivery model.

 

Back in January MedAppz had announced that ASG Software Solutions will private label the MedAppz’s iSuite product under its ASG-Cypress brand. ASG is the originator of ASG’s Business Service Platform, a true platform for Business Service Management in the world’s leading markets. 

ASG Cypress is a solution suite comprised of a modular, integrated document assembly and delivery system used today by a wide variety of enterprises in healthcare, including Florida Hospital.
