Aerohive Networks Intros SaaS Enterprise Wi-Fi Management Solution

Aerohive Networks has announced the introduction of HiveManager Online, a software-as-a-service or “SaaS (News - Alert)” enterprise Wi-Fi management solution that provides features and functionality of a behind-the-firewall wireless network management system - eliminating the need for installation, operation and maintenance required in a dedicated management server.

Aerohive (News - Alert) has also introduced the HiveAP 120, a dual-radio 802.11n access point that offers a Wi-Fi solution that is simple, reliable, flexible and scalable.

HiveManager Online provides plug-and-play provisioning and makes network administration easy with automatic upgrades and patches. It also allows network management from any Web browser and from anywhere and supports green data center initiatives undertaken by most companies.

Together, HiveManager Online and cooperative control access, eliminate the need for wireless LAN controllers making the implementation of the Wi-Fi network as simple as possible requiring only access points and the cloud.

“SaaS network management with cooperative control HiveAPs provides enterprise-class Wi-Fi that is unmatched in ease of deployment, ease of management, and cost,” said David Flynn, chief executive officer, Aerohive.

“HiveManager Online and the HiveAP 120 enable every enterprise, even small ones with very modest budgets, to start small with enterprise features and central management and expand as business grow,.” Said Flynn.

In addition, HiveManager platforms support two modes of operation. The “Express Mode” provides a simplified workflow with complete functionality and the “Enterprise Mode” offers full configuration flexibility for complex enterprise deployments. Customers can upgrade seamlessly from Express Mode to Enterprise Mode and also between the four HiveManager products, said Aerohive officials.
