CDC Software Buys SaaS Supply Chain Solutions Provider

CDC Software (News - Alert) Corporation recently announced that it has entered into a formal and binding acquisition agreement with a supplier of software as a service or “SaaS (News - Alert)” supply chain solutions.

The target company offers SaaS supply chain solutions for small and medium size enterprises. The company did not reveal the commercial terms of the formal binding agreement. However, the agreement will be subject to the satisfaction of several vital conditions and it is expected that the deal will be concluded towards the end of the year.

According to officials with CDC Software Corporation, this deal is a second such one in relation to the acquisition of a SaaS enterprise in October 2009. The company has affirmed that this agreement is part of a ‘roll up’ strategy which it has formulated to add SaaS companies into its group.

In addition, officials with CDC Software said it expects to incorporate the target company’s customer facing contact center functionalities with their own CDC Supply Chain back office fulfillment solutions.

This will provide a clear footing in the business to consumer market segment with this acquisition as the provider will help provide a start to finish SaaS product.
