MIPS Technologies Selects Fabiotec as Software Consultant for Israel Market



MIPS Technologies, Inc., has named software services provider Fabiotec as a software consultant for MIPS products and technology in the Israel market.

 
As part of the agreement, MIPS Technologies (News - Alert) will provide Fabiotec engineers with the assistance, hands-on training and tools required to support the rapidly growing number of Israel-based MIPS licensees in every phase of their SoC design cycle.
 
MIPS officials said that for the company’s licensees, Fabiotec offers expertise in device drivers, system bring-up, CPU system software and more.
 
The company has already completed a number of consulting agreements with MIPS licensees, including software development projects for the MIPS32 4KE, 24K and 34K cores.
 
“We welcome Fabiotec as a valued member of our service provider community, which is focused on easing design and development for MIPS licensees,” said Art Swift (News - Alert), vice president of marketing, MIPS Technologies, in a statement.
 
Swift said that Fabiotec’s experience, technical proficiency, customer commitment and familiarity with MIPS technology can help the company’s growing customer base in Israel successfully and quickly bring innovative designs to market.

Recently MIPS Technologies had announced that Novatek Microelectronics Corp. licensed the MIPS32 24KEc processor core to power advanced chip designs for a variety of multimedia devices for the digital home.
 
Based in Taiwan, Novatek is a world leader in the development of solutions for high-growth markets including flat panel displays, DTVs, set-top boxes (STBs), digital still cameras and portable media devices.
