Alert), revenue in 2008, a report by industry analyst firm IDC
found. According to IDC (
News -
Alert), this is the fastest growth for any security vendor.
In a report titled, "Worldwide Web Security 2009-2013 Forecast and 2008 Vendor Shares," IDC has estimated that the SaaS Web security market is slated grow at the rate of 46.5 percent, reaching $513 million by 2013. IDC predicts that the SaaS Web security market will grow faster than that of Web security software and appliances.
"Webroot has a long and successful history of protecting organizations and end users worldwide from Web-based threats," said Brian Burke, security program director, IDC, in a statement. "They pioneered the anti-spyware market twelve years ago and have built a strong solution for Web and email security software-as-a-service, as indicated by their growth in market share. With their technology, strong roadmap and loyal customer base, we expect to see Webroot increase its growth as the industry further adopts SaaS security."
