VCSonline Announces Latest Version of VPMi SaaS Project Management Software

VCSonline, a provider of Web-based portfolio, resource, and project management software, reportedly announced its new project management Software-as-a-service VPMi version 4.5 with Web-based Microsoft (News - Alert) Project integration.

The new software also comes with the ability to manage an entire plan in a spreadsheet view and the ability to build reports and share them with other VPMi users - or export them to Microsoft Word or Excel.

Gartner (News - Alert) finds that SaaS adoption is the highest in applications that support simplified, common business processes or large, distributed virtual workforce teams. The popularity is driven by the ease of use, rapid deployment, limited upfront investment in capital and staffing, plus a reduction in software management responsibility.

VPMi is a SaaS (News - Alert) resource, portfolio, and project management software solution that helps companies improve productivity and decrease project overhead. The VPMi SaaS solution also eliminates the need to set up servers, install software, or build reports, say company officials.

Important features of VPMi include project workflow, portfolio management, program management, timesheets, document management, issue management, change/scope management, risk management, earned value, resource capacity planning, Microsoft Project integration, balanced scorecards and financials.

The new VPMi 4.5, according to VCSonline officials, has streamlined project setup with templates and Microsoft Project integration. Once set up, project teams can sync with Microsoft Project or use the company’s new project staffing and editing features.

“From the beginning eleven years ago we have had only one mission,” said VCSonline Co-Founder Nick Matteucci, in a statement. “To prove VPMi is the simple, sensible, and secure alternative to expensive and convoluted project and resource management software.”

With the new software, customers are able to cut their project management time by more than fifty percent. It is easy to set up, maintain, and yet inexpensive, added Matteucci. Some of the early adopters of VPMi 4.5 include Scottrade, Wildflower, U.S. Army, Laclede Gas, Quick Study Radiology, and Northwestern College.

VPMi 4.5 recently announced that its VPMi project management solution has recorded 30 percent increase in revenue in 2009, TMCnet reported.
