Cast Iron Simplifies Deployment of Windows Azure Solutions

Cast Iron Systems, a leading software-as-a-service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” and cloud integration company, announced partnership with Microsoft (News - Alert) to offer a solution that accelerates data migration and application integration for the Windows Azure platform.
According to Cast Iron officials, the Cast Iron for Windows Azure enables customers to take advantage of the speed, simplicity and cost effectiveness of cloud computing within days. The combined solution gives customers the benefits of Microsoft's cloud services quickly, company officials said.
“With Windows Azure, we are delivering a services platform for creating and delivering valuable Web applications and services,” Doug Hauger, general manager of Windows Azure at Microsoft, said.
Cast Iron for Windows Azure provides the simplicity and speed their customers and partners need to develop and deploy Windows Azure solutions that work together with their existing solutions, Hauger added.
According to Ken Comée, CEO of Cast Iron Systems, Cast Iron for Windows Azure enables those companies to migrate data and integrate enterprise applications in just days and start realizing the compelling benefits of the Windows Azure platform immediately.
CompWest Insurance Company, one of the long-standing customers of Cast Iron and Microsoft, is using Cast Iron solution to streamline their operations by integrating Microsoft applications, such as SQL databases and Net applications, with other cloud services and on-premise enterprise systems.
“Combining the Microsoft platform with Cast Iron integration has expedited our adoption of cloud-based services, resulting in improved efficiency for our business,” Michael Knibbs, director of IT at CompWest Insurance, said.
Last week, Cast Iron Systems announced that it has won the Best of SaaS Showplace
Award, presented by THINKstrategies. The Best of SaaS Showplace Award program recognizes the SaaS companies delivering solutions that produce measurable business benefits for their customers.
Officials at THINKstrategies found that Cast Iron provides integration solutions and Integration-as-a-Service which allows providers and consumers of SaaS and cloud computing solutions to more quickly and economically connect their on-demand and on-premise applications and systems, the announcement said.
