CloudShare Virtual Sales Engagement Platform Now Available Through Salesforce.com

CloudShare, a company that replicates fully-functional IT environments in the cloud, has announced that its “Virtual Sales Engagement” platform will now be available in salesforce.com’s AppExchange.

Company officials said that CloudShare will be immediately available for test drive and deployment on the AppExchange, leveraging the Force.com platform.

Users will be able to distribute proofs of concept as easily as sending an e-mail from within Salesforce CRM, without depending on airlines or FedEx to present full server and demo environments to prospective customers. The greatest value lies in the technology’s ability to streamline the sales cycle and bridge the gap between a great sales call and actually getting the product into the hands of the customer, said the company.

“CloudShare is known for the competitive advantage we provide to sales people. With trimmed budgets and the rise in popularity of cloud computing applications, we’ve seen a growing need for technology that can shorten and streamline processes while providing customers with a ‘true’ user experience,” Zvi Guterman, CEO, CloudShare, said. “Given the cloud-based nature of our system and our shared users, providing a plug-in to Salesforce CRM seems like a natural extension of our product.”

The CloudShare platform utilizes standard enterprise building-blocks to deliver a radically new SaaS (News - Alert) experience: rapid replication and sharing of fully-functional, complex enterprise IT infrastructure environments, hosted on the Internet.

It helps software and appliance companies to accelerate sales, gain deeper insight into the channel and save money by providing a service that facilitates virtual demos and remote PoCs for software companies, allowing sales engineers to conduct product demos and serve more customers with more products per rep, while investing in fewer assets, according to the company.

“Companies continue to explore how to move more business operations like presenting proofs of concept to the cloud,” said Kendall Collins, chief marketing officer, salesforce.com.

The addition of CloudShare to the AppExchange gives salesforce.com customers the ability to simplify how they present proofs of concept with a few clicks, he added.
