Sciformatix Releases Three Versions of its SaaS-Based LIMS

Sciformatix Corporation reportedly announced the release of three new versions of its Software-as-a-Service-based LIMS called SciLIMS. The company specializes in SaaS (News - Alert) Laboratory Information Management Systems or LIMS.

With the new releases, labs will be able to use a professional LIMS which has been priced optimally. The new “Lab Group Edition” is available for $149 a month and is designed for laboratories with up to 5 users. It provides features similar to the existing “Professional Edition,” company sources said.

Also the new “Samples Edition” can be purchased at $49 a month. This version is designed for laboratories with simple storage and container management requirements. The new “Samples Edition Lite” is priced at $19 a month and is similar to the “Samples Edition” and is designed for labs with up to three users.

“Our objective is to give every scientific lab the ability to adopt a professional LIMS, rather than continue to struggle with informal tools and home-grown utilities,” Sciformatix CEO Thomas Kent said in a statement. “With these new editions, SciLIMS is easily affordable for even the smallest labs, helping them to dramatically improve lab operations and substantially reduce operating costs, including costs associated with IT administration and software development.”

SciLIMS leverages the capabilities of the increasingly accepted cloud computing and SaaS delivery model making the operation secure. This does not require customers to purchase, install or maintain computing resources besides eliminating IT administration and software development expenditure.

“Now, labs can use a professional LIMS for less than the price of a daily cup of coffee,” Kent said. “This is a big boost for lab customers, particularly in these challenging economic times.”

Sciformatix also announced that it will launch a two-pronged promotion which will run up to Jan. 15. The “Samples Edition Lite” version will be offered free-of-charge to new subscribers.  New subscribers to the “Professional Edition” and “Lab Group Edition” versions will also receive a discount of 15 percent on user subscriptions and also a 75 percent discount on one-time setup fees, said official sources in the company.

The solutions offered by the company provide scientific labs with a customizable, affordable and easily deployable Laboratory Management System, which can support dynamic and evolving processes.
