Spare Backup Teams with 'The Carphone Warehouse' for New Customer Portal Offering

Spare Backup, Inc., a provider of secure backup solution, announced recently the launch of a remote, cloud-based customer portal service with the U.K.-based independent mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse. Spare Backup and The Carphone Warehouse (News - Alert) have also entered into a confidential revenue sharing agreement that will operate on a mutually beneficial basis.

This newly launched service will ensure that customers have their most precious and valuable electronic property protected and readily available, company officials said. Reportedly, both companies are planning to launch jointly several more product announcements in the new year.

“We wanted to work with a partner that understood our business and our customers. It was a natural move for us to work with Spare Backup,” explains Tom Guy, head of digital services, The Carphone Warehouse.

Spare Backup, Inc. specializes in helping consumers, small office/home office users and small to mid-sized businesses protect their computer data quickly, automatically and cost-effectively. The company claims that its flagship Spare Backup product is the first totally automated online backup service that intelligently selects, secures and stores files without any user intervention, automatically backing up documents, e-mail, music, photos and other PC files on a continuous basis or according to the schedule of the user’s choice.

As mentioned, this new dedicated and so-called 'easy to use' interface will also provide The Carphone Warehouse customers a personal hub in the cloud that provides simple to use features for the user, and also offer an array of complimentary services tailored to each individual’s needs.

“We really got behind what The Carphone Warehouse was trying to achieve for its customers and worked very closely with the company to deliver a customer proposition that would be easy to use and that would be hugely beneficial to users. The proposition we have jointly developed is an extremely robust proposition for consumers and we are very pleased to partner with The Carphone Warehouse,” says Cery Perle, CEO of Spare Backup.

Reportedly, both companies will work jointly to deliver the best possible experience to customers within the cloud-based platform: mobile apps, music, photos, mobile banking and data storage.
