Not-for-profit Legacy provides an integrated network of healthcare services across six hospitals and specialty and primary care clinics in the Portland and Vancouver metropolitan regions.
Allscripts officials said that the company’s care management solution will streamline and automate Legacy’s entire care management process including utilization, case management, discharge and quality management, while generating an immediate return on investment by reducing denials of appropriate claims, and ensuring patient stays are timed appropriately for the best care.
The company official said that Allscripts, which is a Web-based, Software as a Service solution, can be deployed quickly and efficiently with minimal IT support resulting in increased productivity, improved patient throughput, lower claims denials and better health outcomes.
“At Legacy, we are committed to ensuring quality and timely care for our patients,” said Toni Propotnik, RNMN CMAC, director, Care Management for Legacy Health, in a statement.
Propotnik said that today, Legacy has multiple manual processes that are very time consuming and often frustrating for the staff and patients.
“Allscripts will help us deliver on our promise of quality healthcare by creating a comprehensive and integrated care management program with seamless communication between utilization review, case management and discharge planning,” he said.
The company officials said that Allscripts streamlines the utilization management process by electronically capturing critical patient data and guiding case managers in securing authorization and payment of care from insurers.
The solution also creates an effective denial management program to track claim denials and improve an organization’s success rate with appeals.
“Legacy Health understood that the next step in providing quality care for their patients was to provide an integrated care experience and connect all the pieces of the process, providing more comprehensive information to the caregivers and reducing errors, duplication and ultimately, cost,” said Glen Tullman, chief executive officer of Allscripts.
Tullman said that Legacy will leverage SaaS (
