Sonian Inc. reportedly announced that it will continue to support Zimbra’s (News - Alert) messaging architecture through its platform agnostic, cloud-powered, e-mail archiving service during and even after its acquisition by VMware, Inc. a provider of virtualization solutions.


In a release George Nichols CEO of Sonian said that the company wants to reassure all Zimbra users that Sonian will continue to offer an affordable and secure solution to meet compliant email archiving requirements. 

“You can utilize our solution today and in the future without fear that your archive will suffer any technical compromise,” Nichols added.

Company sources from Sonian emphasized that Sonian’s email archiving service is unique among email archiving providers because its platform-agnostic, SaaS (News - Alert)-based model supports all messaging platforms.

“Because of our design, any changes made to the Zimbra platform after the acquisition will not affect Sonian’s ability to capture, store, and retrieve email from the archive,” said Greg Arnetter, chief technology officer at Sonian.

Sonian’s e-mail archiving solution is capable of storing e-mail messages in the cloud and can also offer unlimited storage for a price. Sonian’s e-mail archiving solution ensures compliance with all regulatory statutes and simplifies mitigation support with advanced e-discovery features. Company officials said that Sonian provides Zimbra with an affordable, reliable, scalable, secure and feature-rich hosted e-mail archiving and e-discovery service that is compliant with SEC (News - Alert), FINRA, SOX, FRCP and so on. It also provides storage resource management features.
