Comdata, a provider of point-of-sale (POS) and payment terminal solutions, has selected the Cybera ONE security services platform to provide remote security infrastructure to Comdata Smart Solutions POS systems at truck stops and convenience stores.
To the company, the plug-and-play Cybera ONE solution provides a comprehensive data security solution that is simple and more cost effective than alternatives, according to company officials.
“The Cybera ONE platform bundles all the necessary security applications that we need into one robust, easy-to-manage solution,” said Ken Kaley, vice president of operations at Comdata, adding that the solution can be installed and configured in a matter of minutes rather than hours, which simplifies the deployment process and ensures a smooth transition for customers.
A cloud-based platform, Cybera ONE provides flexibility in deploying remote enterprise security architecture to multi-site businesses at low cost and risk. Cybera eliminates the need to buy and deploy expensive on-premise security equipment from multiple vendors.
With the Cybera ONE platform, retail merchants can stay both constantly connected and protected with zero-touch, real-time security updates, said company officials.
Comdata offers a suite of POS products designed for convenience stores, truck stops and unattended fuel locations. Thanks to the company’s solutions, operators can drive efficiencies by managing all transactions – retail, fuel, and other services – from a single platform.
For Comdata Smart Solutions POS systems at remote stores, the Cybera ONE platform provides the enterprise security infrastructure needed to communicate securely. These include hosted VPN for secure remote access and transmission of payment card data; hosted security information and event management to provide proactive security and real-time intelligence with severity-based alerting; and logging and archiving to maintain compliance with Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standards (PCI (News - Alert)-DSS).
“With our Cybera ONE services platform, we’ve been able to eliminate significant upfront capital investments and ongoing upgrade costs for Comdata customers,” said Dan Glennon, senior vice president of marketing and strategy at Cybera.
Cybera simplifies network security for distributed enterprises. In February, Wendy's franchisee Calhoun Management Corp. adopted the Cybera One solution for security and PCI compliance.
