CloudTC Glass 1000 IP Phone Interoperable with BroadSoft's BroadWorks Voice App Server

Software innovator in business applications and IP telephony CloudTC has announced the interoperability of its IP phone, CloudTC Glass 1000, with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks voice application server.

The Android (News - Alert)-based CloudTC Glass 1000 IP phone has also achieved interoperability with prominent infrastructure vendors. As a result of the Glass platform running on the Android OS, application providers are afforded an open development environment, flexibility and scalability. In addition, the phone also extends the ability to integrate the applications with unique calling features and a large user screen.

David Bukovsky, vice president of products at BroadSoft (News - Alert), believes that there is growing demand for Android-based OS phones.

Bukovsky said that the demonstrated interoperability of the CloudTC Glass 1000 IP phone with BroadWorks presents service providers with a wider choice of access devices for deploying services based on BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform.

BroadSoft is a provider of software that enables mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to deliver real-time communications over their IP networks. The company’s BroadWorks platform delivers a broad range of unified communications (UC) services such as video, voice, hosted call center, conferencing, messaging and mobility, for businesses and consumers worldwide.

“BroadSoft service provider customers can now enjoy all the rich enterprise telephony capabilities they enjoy on the BroadWorks platform, combined with the Smartphone-like functionality and flexibility of the Glass phone,” said Cheryln Chin, vice president of marketing at CloudTC.

Recently, BroadSoft announced the selection of nine developers for the 2011 Xtended Incubator Program, a global initiative designed to accelerate the development of in-demand voice, mobile and web-based communications applications for businesses and consumers through the provision by BroadSoft of seed funding, feedback and support to application developers.
