DDS Wireless' StrataGen Gets Two New Contracts with MTA New York City Transit

DDS Wireless International’s transit business unit, StrataGen Systems Inc., has won two contracts with MTA New York City Transit which is worth $6.1 million with options up to $6.8 million.

One of the projects involves StrataGen deploying ADEPT Intermodal Trip Planning (ITP) application which integrates NYC Transit's Access-A-Ride paratransit service with its extensive fixed route system, providing NYC Transit with operational flexibility and increased efficiencies.

The other project for StrataGen is to enhance the functionality of NYC Transit's Paratransit Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system supporting the additional functionality of the new ITP application.

New York City Transit has been StrataGen customer for sometime now and had given the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system deployment contract previously in 2010. NYC Transit currently provides 27,000 trips per day through its paratransit service and is considered the largest system in North America.

"We are pleased to receive these new contract awards from MTA New York City Transit," said Matt Scheuing, President of StrataGen Systems Inc.

Scheuing said that the NYC Transit is a very innovative client and they look forward to collaborate on the delivery of these applications that not only drive efficiency but also allow NYC Transit to continue to provide an important service to their ridership.

StrataGen expects to complete the most of the ITP and IVR contract through the end of 2012, with some portions of the projects stretching into early 2013. The company will receive minimum contracted maintenance revenue of $1.7 million over five years.

Recently, StrataGen closed on several deals valued at over $800,000. This includes a full end-to-end systems sale to a rural customer in Oregon, a wireless infrastructure expansion in Colorado as well as national pilot initiatives in non-emergency medical transportation.
