CTN, GNAX Offer Medical Image Archive and Exchange

November 26, 2012

The Colorado Telehealth Network, in association with GNAH Health, has unveiled a program wherein medical images can be securely stored and shared via a private cloud. The physician portals of CTN and GNAX will be image-enabled, ensuring the availability of images and diagnostic reports via the HIEs.

The program is being developed under the guidance of Colorado Regional Health Information Organization and Quality Health Network.

CTN will also be provided disaster recovery and business continuity offerings by GNAX Health. Physicians will see a single interface for viewing all medical images by incorporating all electronic medical records with the infrastructure.

For the last eight months, nine CHA member hospitals have collaborated with CTN for developing the imaging program. Vendor-neutral archiving services and diagnostic-quality medical image viewing, offered by GNAX in association with Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook, was chosen by CTX after a comprehensive RFI (News - Alert) process and assessment.

Acuo’s Universal Clinical Platform has merged with Client Outlook’s eUnity clinical image visualization, sharing and collaboration toolset as part of the solution.

In a statement, Ed Bostick, executive director at CTN said, “This pioneering agreement between CTN, GNAX, Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook further solidifies our network as a national leader in health information technology and connectivity. We are confident this new image-storing service has the functionality and advantages our clients deserve, and promises to significantly enhance patient care coordination and quality across Colorado.”

According to Jeff Timbrook, CEO at Acuo Technologies, an innovative solution based on IHE standards has been offered to CTN by this joint-venture. The organization, in association with GNAX and Client Outlook, will assist CTN in saving considerable time and effort through the novel deployment strategy.

“This is a great example of a successful public-private partnership. This collaboration led to a unique strategic alliance that produces a solution unlike any others in the market,” said Jeff Hinkle, CEO at GNAX Health. “This offering tightly integrates world-class clinical content viewing, abstraction and life-cycle management applications, data migration, cloud-computing and customer support services into a single bundle, greatly simplifying the process of administering enterprise medical image access, exchange and management while reducing IT costs.”
