Mindjet Upgrades Mobile App for Professionals who Manage Teams, Projects On-the-go

Mindjet (News - Alert) is, at its core, a collaboration platform, one that seeks to literally “jet” ideas around a cloud-based collaborative environment. Teams – whether they consist of one, two or a thousand participants – are able to connect and collaborate from anywhere at any time.

Users can brainstorm, nail down ideas, expand them, organize them and ultimately manage them so that they become true business enablers.

To use the company’s own words, in keeps the collaborators “on point, on task, on time.”

More specifically and importantly, Mindjet – which has been providing collaboration technology for over six years – provides an interactive environment that makes use of a highly visual framework to keep teams organized.

Mindjet currently claims that 83 of the global Fortune 100 companies use Mindjet to “get work done.”

Early last week Mindjet announced the availability of its latest addition to its platform, a completely redesigned Mindjet Tasks. The mobile app has been completely rebuilt from the ground up so that professionals can, with a swipe of a finger, manage team projects and tasks at any time and from any location.

The new app is immediately available for the iPhone (News - Alert) and will be updated for both the iPad and Android devices later in Q4 2012.

The premise behind Mindjet (and one that can’t in any form or fashion be argued with given today’s BYOD world), is that ever-increasing numbers of team-centric knowledge workers now access their mobile devices to check in on projects and e-mail, whether they were in meetings or on the road – and whether or not it’s the middle of the workday or the middle of the night.

The problem, as Mindjet sees it, is that effective team communications and project management have been missing, leaving lots of opportunities untapped or others submerged within a lot of noise.

Mindjet Tasks empowers this distributed workforce with a mobile hub to manage projects, tasks and teams through an easy-to-use and intuitive interface. The latest release of Mindjet Tasks overhauls the user experience and adds new features that include the following:

  • Mobile team and project dashboards that enable project and team management from the mobile device.
  • Instinctual gesture controls for easy updates, task tracking, comments and team management.
  • Ability to share information and plans, assign priorities and track tasks with multiple team members regardless of location.
  • Real-time updates on documents, progress and plans, including team comments.
  • Patent pending auto-prioritization of tasks to keep you and your team on the right track.
  • Instant connection with Mindjet Web and desktop to update or add to your latest ideas and plans.

There are a variety of Mindjet components that make up the entire platform. The company offers several pricing models depending on the types of users and businesses that sign up for a subscription to the services.
