oGoing Social Media Membership Grows by 500 Percent in 2012

The social service oGoing styles itself as a Twitter (News - Alert) for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) the enables them to improve their social media marketing, small business networking and lead generation capabilities. And, evidently its approach is working. This is witnessed by the fact that oGoing membership grew by 500 percent in 2012, according to a statement by the company, reaching more than 500,000 member businesses.
“I am excited about the growth of oGoing Small Business Social Network," Sanjay Dalal said in the statement, founder and CEO of oGoing. "I re-launched oGoing in 2011 with a goal to create an amazing business social networking platform for small business, startups, entrepreneurs, owners, service providers and SMB.”
A year of evolution
Dalal points to 2012 as a year of evolution for oGoing. First, it launched a Business Needs section where small business members can express and post their pressing needs. Over 1,000 needs have been published on oGoing.com since the introduction.
A New Business announcements feature was added, too. Member business is announced and promoted to the entire oGoing community and on the oGoing.com website with the feature.
YouTube (News - Alert) video sharing has been baked into the service, too. Members can simply copy and paste YouTube video links within the oGoing updates and they automatically become part of the marketing message.
A couple of paid offerings were added, including its $99 social media marketing boost service and a $39 per month oGoing Pro Business level to its existing free level. Members get enhanced social media exposure from the upgrade, and the social media marketing boost promotes specific advertisement or promotional message 25 times on oGoing.com, Twitter, Facebook (News - Alert), Google+ and LinkedIn.
This year oGoing also also launched its Business Social Network App for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The app empowers small businesses to connect, network, share, promote and grow using the site’s innovative social media.
The coming year also promises growth for the company, according to their statement. In 2013, the company is gunning for membership growth of 1000 percent. It plans to release a specific iPad app, and an Android app. It has partnered with Vocus, too, to increase exposure of oGoing small business network, the company reported.
In 2013, oGoing also plans on further integration with LinkedIn and Google (News - Alert)+, expand integration of oGoing with Facebook, and grow oGoing presence on Windows platform.
