Telesphere, BroadSoft Collaborate to Create MobileConnect

The increasing computing and communications power of mobile devices means more advanced solutions are being created to harness it. In enterprise applications with BYOD initiatives, it means using mobile devices as part of the corporate network with unified communications (UC) to introduce a new level of collaboration with everyone in the organization—anytime, anywhere. A new solution introduced by the partnership between Telesphere and BroadSoft (News - Alert), called MobileConnect, is designed to provide mobile devices with more collaborative solutions as part of BYOD policies.

Telesphere, a provider of fully hosted VoIP and unified cloud communications services for businesses, and BroadSoftt, provider of software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer UC over their Internet Protocol network, will make it possible for enterprises to leverage MobileConnect and its cloud-driven VoIP, video call/conferencing, IM and collaboration capabilities.

Users will now have one identity for voice, video, instant messaging and presence, allowing them to move from one device to another seamlessly without call interruption by synchronizing call logs, buddy lists and service settings across all devices. Having a single online identity to communicate on multiple services eliminates compatibility issues so users can view the presence of contacts, share information and collaborate on their mobile device or desktop with virtual meeting room features.

Knowing what everyone is up to at a given moment—with its presence feature and the auto generated status of the contacts based on current activities—users can see if they are available, busy, away or off-line. These updates are pushed by the cloud to smart phones, tablets, desktops or any other computing device of the user’s choice.

"The communication goes well beyond voice, enabling seamless desktop sharing, text, SMS, voice and presence features using an iPhone (News - Alert), iPad, Android tablet, smart phone or desktop,” stated Kristi Brown, vice president of marketing at Telesphere.

The technology in MobileConnect uses BroadSoft's UC-One platform, a comprehensive, open unified communication solution that allows service providers to introduce UC services faster to market with user experience, mobility, and transparency offers.
