Nexmo Announces Partnership with Global Start-Up Accelerator Wayra

June 27, 2014

Nexmo, a premier cloud communication API company, recently signed a partnership agreement with Wayra, the global start-up accelerator.

Wayra provides entrepreneurs access to technology, mentors, workspace and financing to help accelerate their growth and develop global businesses.

With this partnership between Nexmo and Wayra, companies participating in the accelerator can gain access to Nexmo's communications-as-a-service solutions and comprehensive cloud-based APIs at a reduced price.

Officials said that Nexmo's services help app developers, enterprises and now Wayra companies to reach customers in any geography around the world through innovative mobile text-messaging and voice-messaging experiences.

"Our partnership with Wayra is a way for Nexmo to help start-ups gain global reach via our cloud-based APIs in a matter of days," said Tony Jamous, CEO, Nexmo, in a press statement. "We've helped clients like Airbnb, Line and Viber expand globally by aiding them to connect with their customers across any border."

The partnership also solidifies Nexmo's engagement with early-stage start-ups and ensures that Wayra participants have the highest quality communications services and support, so they don’t have to worry more about their communications platform and can concentrate on primary business functions.

Wayra participants, with this partnership will also receive a discount for one year on Nexmo's API offerings and an initial credit to help get them started.

Since 2011, Nexmo has offered the cloud experience to handsets around the world, delivering both high quality messaging and voice capabilities to application developers and enterprises worldwide.

The company’s unique direct-to-carrier approach, adaptive routing and real-time analytics enable unmatched quality of delivery and end-user experience while controlling common latency, security and cost challenges.

In May, TMCnet reported that Nexmo and 21Vianet, the largest carrier-neutral data center service provider in China, announced a strategic partnership to provide high quality and easy-to-use cloud APIs to the Chinese domestic market.
