Logicalis Hosted Collaboration Solution Brings New Power to Enterprise Users

Keeping everybody on the same page can be tough, particularly when some of the books involved may be miles—even hundreds of miles—away from everyone else's. The benefits of an increasingly mobile workforce come with a few downsides in the process, and that means a collaboration solution is often called into play to help address some of those issues. Logicalis US, meanwhile, brought out just such a solution recently with its Logicalis (News - Alert) Hosted Collaboration Solution.

The Logicalis Hosted Collaboration Solution uses Cisco technology as a basis, and brings in several different collaboration services under one umbrella. It offers both voice and voice mail services, along with both instant messaging and presence tools, and even a complete contact center system along with a few other tools that are strictly cloud-based. Basically, the solution provides all these different services on an “as-a-service” basis, which means it's available to users regardless of location, and that gives companies an edge in putting geographically-dispersed workforces into play.

It can be difficult to work with such workforces, so chief information officers (CIOs) are often eager to find unified communications (UC) services that can be put to work without adding a lot of infrastructure or requiring too much in the way of time and resources to set up. The Logicalis Hosted Collaboration Solution looks to step in on that front, offering up a set of tools that can be put in place quickly with little effort. Plus, it—along with Logicalis' other products—can be part of a complete package that offers the level of flexibility and durability that carrier services need, let alone regular enterprises.

Logicalis' director of collaboration practice, Cory Rehfeldt, offered up some comment around the new release, saying “While cost savings can be one benefit, two perhaps more important reasons to consider UC as-a-service include the increased flexibility it offers in deploying collaboration applications and the reduced burden on internal IT resources – why have talented, expensive, in-house personnel focused on lights-on activities like phone system updates when they can be working toward much more strategic goals?”

That's one of the biggest points of such a system; while the hosted collaboration tools are certainly necessary to help keep the elements of an increasingly mobile workforce moving in the same direction, few companies want to put a lot of time and effort—and therefore resources—toward putting those tools necessary to do so in place. So with a hosted solution like Logicalis', there's a lot less call for resources, instead letting companies just bring in an already in place solution, taking a little time to get it into everyone's hands and get everyone up to speed on how to use it, and then letting the solution do the rest of the heavy lifting from there. The benefits of such a solution are in hand faster, while the trouble and resources required to establish it are reduced.

Logicalis' Hosted Collaboration Solution should prove to be a welcome addition to many companies' communications suites, and though there are plenty of competitors in that field, Logicalis should have a good showing thanks to improved ease of use and setup.
