Oracle Communications and BroadSoft Collaborate on Comprehensive UC Solution

October 29, 2015

Communications solutions bring businesses a range of indispensable benefits, but are often disconnected from each other and therefore cannot reach their optimal effectiveness. This is why collaborations between technology providers are essential to creating comprehensive, efficient offerings that can truly revolutionize how a business operates. The latest example of this is a new integration between Oracle Communications’ Unified Communications (News - Alert) Suite and Broadsoft’s UC-One portfolio of unified communications (UC) and collaboration solutions.

UC-One spans a wide range of services including hosted PBX (News - Alert), instant messaging and presence, video collaboration, screen sharing and file sharing, all enhanced by end user applications such as the UC-One Communicator for unrestricted access to these services and the UC-One Connect messaging app. Oracle’s (News - Alert) suite covers messaging, instant messaging and presence, calendars, contact management and other useful tools for more advanced business communications. The new integration makes all of these capabilities from both companies’ product portfolios accessible through a seamless unified interface.

The integration builds on an existing partnership between the two companies in which BroadSoft (News - Alert) has implemented scalable Oracle Communications Session Border Controllers, as well as a few other technologies, for its BroadWorks Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications platform and BroadCloud managed service offering.

“BroadSoft has a longstanding commitment to an open platform strategy, which simplifies the integration of our communication and collaboration services with other devices, systems and applications,” said Taher Behbehani, Chief Marketing Officer at BroadSoft. “Through our work with Oracle, we will continue to power new competitive solutions for our service provider customers.”

Service providers that choose to implement the newly-integrated solution will be able to offer customers real-time context-aware collaboration and communications capabilities. With one of the market’s leading virtual PBXs, a virtual key system, virtual contact center capabilities and network quality analytics tools, service providers can upgrade their obsolete on-premise PBX and Centrex systems without sacrificing quality or dealing with daunting expenses.

“Our service provider customers are asking for a communication-enabled collaboration suite that can help them grow in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Carl Dcosta, Vice President of Alliances and Channels at Oracle. “The demonstration of the BroadSoft UC-One and Oracle Communications Unified Communications Suite provides a robust offering giving CSPs a fully functional communications and collaboration environment to help them reclaim communications.”

Unified Communications solutions are the now and the future, and this integration between Oracle Communications and BroadSoft could not be a better opportunity for recognizing that fact and putting it into practice.
