Hixardt Technologies recently announced that it has now been licensed to provide the U.S. Government with AppRiver's secure messaging solutions by the United States General Services Administration (GSA) under Schedule 70 Contract GS-35F-0576P. This announcement follows the $19.2 million Base Level Software Support Service (BLSSS) contract of five years that Hixardt also acquired.
"Award of the GSA (News - Alert) contract is a significant milestone," said Mike Hicks, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Hixardt Technologies, Inc.
"The hosted service model is becoming increasingly popular, with Software-as-a-Service representing a significant percentage of business application spending. We consider AppRiver as the premium provider in this space and look forward to extending its advanced security solutions to government clients," Hicks, Jr. added.
AppRiver provides customers with managed e-mail security solutions like spam and virus protection and Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange Hosting along with other well-known services like Email Archiving, Regulatory Compliance, Mobile Messaging Solutions, and Phenomenal Customer Care.
Hixardt Technologies is a firm that has focused its resources towards meeting the information technology needs of both federal agencies and commercial organizations. While the approval by the US GSA will now allow U.S. government agencies to acquire the products and services of AppRiver at competitive prices via Hixardt, such an affirmation will also act as a guarantee to government users who will be sure of getting high-standard quality services at the best prices.
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) provider AppRiver helps businesses save on the time and investment that is usually incurred on buying and maintaining Exchange servers in-house via its Secure Exchange Hosting Services. It’s partnership with Akamai is additionally beneficial as it assures users of getting quick and safe access to applications like Outlook, Outlook Web, and Mobile Devices in any location without any internet disruptions.
"AppRiver is pleased to be partnering with Hixardt," said Michael Murdoch, chief executive officer of Appriver.
"GSA's selection process is quite thorough, permitting only those companies that meet strict criteria and remain in compliance with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements to provide security services to government entities. Through Hixardt, we look forward to delivering the benefits of SaaS to government agencies." Murdoch added.
