By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor
Verizon Business (News - Alert) has announced a partnership agreement with HP to develop a Computing as a Service (CaaS) solution which offers enterprises ways to manage IT resources.
“Our new CaaS solution offers enterprises an unbeatable combination of flexibility, security and control,” said Nancy Gofus, senior VP, Global Product Development, Verizon. “HP’s industry leadership and strategy around ‘everything-as-a-service’ is enabling us to deliver what we believe is truly a best-in-class cloud solution.”
HP Software & Solutions (HPSS) Professional Services provided the domain knowledge needed to supporting Verizon Business’ CaaS architecture and helped with the designing and implementation of Verizon CaaS.
HP said that it provided its Business Service Automation software and HP enterprise servers and network infrastructure products according to the requirements of Verizon Business.
The CaaS solution incorporates several HP products such as HP Operations Orchestration software which automates IP processes like incident resolution, change orchestration and routine maintenance tasks which are standardized according to compliance processes.
The HP Server Automation software automates common operational tasks which provide automated, physical and virtual server management.
The CaaS solution also includes HP Service Automation Reported software which enables customers to audit and report on the configuration and compliance data gathered throughout the IT enterprise and has a reporting engine for data centers that records all operational data and includes change information.
