By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor
Copernic is partnering with SOS Online Backup to introduce a new service called Copernic Online Backup.
Specializing in search technology, Copernic provides home and business software products and solutions for desktop, Web and mobile users through its online properties.
The new software helps users protect file loss or deletion due to harmful Internet attacks. The two companies aim to help consumers, small businesses, and enterprises to protect their data quickly, easily, and inexpensively.
Copernic Online Backup uses a small desktop application that works in the background automatically store and save any files that have been modified since the previous backup. It employs a three-tiered encryption system.
This latest technology compresses data using SOS (News - Alert) ShrinkRAP delta compression prior to backup, ensuring that only binary changes made to the files are sent over the network. This significantly reducing bandwidth consumption, and allows users to store an unlimited number of versions of any given file.
Copernic recently unveiled the “Professional” version of its Copernic Desktop Search (CDS) product, designed to help small and medium enterprise (SME) professionals manage their ever-increasing amount of documents, e-mails and attachments.
