Job Hunting Made Easy with beamME CV API on iPhone
By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor
New York City-based rmbr, a provider of applications for mobile devices, announced the availability of its new ‘beamME CV’, an application that facilitates unemployed and jobseekers to instantly send their CV / resume as well as electronic business card - from Apple iPhone (News - Alert) or iPod touch - to anyone on any mobile phone or computer.
Available on the iTunes store, the beamME CV mobile contact exchange (MCX) solution is prized $6.99 for unemployed job seekers and $9.99 before rebate. A MCX solution enables user to exchange their socially networked contact information - anywhere, anytime, and on any device.
According to rmbr, its beamME application enables user to send resume, cover letter and electronic business card (vCard) to the concerned person directly from their iPhone or iPod Touch - via email, SMS or Twitter. The user will have to just follow the instructions to upload the CV or resume in any popular format (PDF suggested), create contact card in 20 seconds, and then send. The cover note can also be customized for each interaction, says company.
Apart from sending and creating vCards on iPhone, beamME CV enables user to receive vCard on iPhone. Designed in consultation with leading recruiters, the API also features - full beam history for easy follow-up; Contact Maps to help remember where meet-ups took place; and eliminates complicated process of downloading and registration. The users can also SMS the resume to anyone in over 140 countries. These SMSs are delivered as a short link that makes the vCard download seamless and universal, said the company.
"Candidates need every advantage to connect with job opportunities in this tight market," said Marc Mencher, CEO of GameRecruiter and twenty-seven-year industry veteran. "beamME CV is a powerful tool in a job seeker's arsenal, and one they can't afford to be without."
rmbr is also encouraging many developers to build innovative applications on beamME API, thereby creating new opportunity for developers. The company said that developers can put in their knowledge of mobile platforms (like Blackberry OS or Windows Mobile) or Internet/Social platforms (like Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter) and integrate that with the “digital handshake” of beamME to reach people in ways never before possible.
The beamME CV is also backed by a thirty-day unconditional guarantee when purchased at Apple (News - Alert) store. A tree is also planted in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation with every purchase, said the company.
According to Gabe Zichermann and Christopher Cunningham, founders of beamME API - Mobile Business Networking can only work when it is device, carrier and social network independent and clearly focused on the needs of the professional user.
