IPower Reveals New Web Site Powered by Wind Energy
By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor
IPower has unveiled a new Web site that features sleek, organized layout and host green practices. The company has stated that it going to power all its servers and data centers with 100 percent pure wind energy.
IPower deals in Web hosting industry, providing a comprehensive suite of online services for individuals and small businesses.
According to company officials, it has purchased wind-generated Renewable Energy Certificates to offset 100 percent of the electricity used for IPower Web site hosting services and it has also called for users to host their sites on servers powered by renewable energy.
The company says that the newly unveiled site will enhance customer experience with streamlined site navigation, with a single row, hover-over menu at the top of the screen, and a mini-sitemap in the expanded footer section. By organizing the site menu and simplifying navigation they have offered their Web hosting customers and site visitors with the most efficient site possible.
Another notable feature on the new site is the revamped FileManager tool, which allows customers to upload and manage site files and directories in a more user-friendly interface. A number of FileManager features have been revised for improved usability.
IPower has stated that since generating wind energy on site isn’t feasible, they are offsetting all of their electricity use with wind-generated Renewable Energy Certificates, which prevent the release of 2,660 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year. That is equivalent to planting approximately 2,390 acres of trees.
Jen Merry, IPower’s marketing manager, explained that not only the company’s staff are eco-conscious but many of their customers as well and they wanted to provide them with an opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint by hosting their sites on servers powered completely by wind energy.
IPower claims that its customers and staff members were the driving force behind their decision to go 100 percent carbon neutral and that is not a marketing ploy. Its staff members encourage responsible environmental practices inside the office and practice them outside the offices and so do its customers.
IPower had released a child Internet monitoring software known as Home PowWow.
