Boomi Announces 'Dream Widget' Contest
By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor
Boomi, a specialist in cloud-computing integration, has reportedly launched a contest that invites salesforce.com customers to contribute and vote for their "dream widget" -- a suggested integration widget between any third-party application and Salesforce CRM. The contest will run through Oct. 30.
"We're soliciting input from the salesforce.com community to deliver the integration they feel will unleash the most potential from the Salesforce CRM for their business," said Rick Nucci, co-founder and chief technology officer at Boomi, in a statement. "This initiative highlights Boomi's commitment to community driven innovation, and allows us to showcase the power of our AtomSphere platform by delivering an out-of-the-box integration that solves a real business problem and can be setup in minutes."
Boomi is opening up the selection process to the salesforce.com community to decide which integration would be the most useful in today's business environment. Ideas, according to the company, may include anything from social media applications to enterprise software. Eventually, the company would build the most popular selection and offer it for free to any salesforce.com customer who visits the Boomi booth at Dreamforce Global Gathering 2009, the cloud-computing event to be held from Nov. 17 to 20.
Boomi said that its Widgets are pre-built, easy-to-use, on-demand connections between popular business applications. Recently the company announced the availability of its Widgets product and has since enabled its partners to build and deliver integrations to applications including ADP, Ascent, Coupa, Glovia, Intuit Partner Platform, Marketo (News - Alert), Microsoft Dynamics GP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Salesforce CRM, Saasu, Taleo and Zuora.
Boomi offers on-demand integration technology and it is also the creator of AtomSphere, the industry's first integration platform-as-a-service. It already delivers cloud-based integration that is available on salesforce.com's AppExchange. Here, applications built on the Force.com platform can be easily distributed to the entire cloud computing community through the Force.com AppExchange marketplace.
