Mavenir Systems Intros Rich Communications Solution

In a bid to empower mobile operators to innovate and create mobile social networks, Mavenir Systems has reportedly announced the availability of the Rich Communications solution to launch new services over 3G and 4G devices.

 

Mavenir’s solution is based on the GSM Association Rich Communication Suite (News - Alert) industry initiative, and is part of the company’s Converged Messaging services. This solution offers mobile operators an integrated, cost-effective platform for revenue-generating multimedia communications and social networking services, according to company officials.

 

With the help of Mavenir's Rich Communications solution, mobile operators can launch new services over 3G, LTE, WiMax and wired broadband networks. This provides operators opportunities to monetize across multiple consumer and enterprise devices, said officials.

 

Implemented on Mavenir mOne Convergence (News - Alert) Platform, this latest offering provides a wide variety of GSMA RCS compliant features such instant messaging, group messaging, presence-enabled contact list and multimedia content sharing.

 

Additionally, Mavenir also provides differentiators such as delivery of MSC-based voice services over IP, buddy locator, social networks aggregation and synchronization and backward compatibility of GSMA (News - Alert) RCS-based IM with traditional SMS and MMS messaging, said company officials.

 

“This solution will help ensure a simple and seamless user experience on one end, while providing a cost effective solution for operators to ensure time to market advantage,” said Shubh Agarwal (News - Alert), vice president of Marketing at Mavenir, in a statement.

 

Richardson, Texas-based Mavenir offers mobile convergence solutions that enable mobile operators to offer subscribers new and enhanced services and applications. The company delivers next generation mobile voice, messaging and presence services from a single converged core.

 

Earlier in September, Mavenir Acme Packet (News - Alert) announced a reseller agreement that enables the delivery of all of today's mobile services and new interactive communication services over 2G, 3G and IP-based 4G mobile broadband access networks.
