Kaltura Receives Three Industry Recognitions

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Kaltura has announced that the company received widespread industry recognition for the services they provided over the past two months with three independent recognitions.

Kaltura was named a “Strong Performer” in "The Forrester (News - Alert) Wave: US Online Video Platforms, Q4 2009,” an independent research report and scored well in areas such as 'customer base' and was ranked among the top three platforms across all major evaluation categories.

Kaltura was also endorsed by IDC (News - Alert) as one of “10 innovative application companies under $100M to watch.” According to IDC, Kaltura is “at the forefront of emerging trends that will shape the future direction of software and add significant value to businesses.”

In addition, the Open World Forum in Paris noted that Kaltura was among the world's five most promising startups focused on open source.

“We are honored to be continuously recognized by experts and leading organizations as an innovative and disruptive force in the online video space. This, coupled with the tremendous uptake by customers and the growth of our developer community, reaffirms the need and readiness for an open source alternative in our space," said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura chairman and CEO about this achievement.

Kaltura’s open source technology and strategy allows them to offer an affordable and flexible alternative to proprietary solutions in the market. This platform includes an easily customizable set of widgets that seamlessly integrate into video applications on Web platforms of any kind.

Recently, the company announced that it joined the Online Video Platform Summit a new conference that speaks to a growing audience of content owners who have, or are planning to have, video and are confused by the online video landscape.
