By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Motorola (News - Alert) Canada will bring its first Android-powered device, the Motorola Milestone to TELUS (News - Alert) customers in early 2010. Motorola Milestone provides a richer mobile web experience, superior messaging and enhanced multi-media features in an innovative design.

Motorola Milestone consists of a full QWERTY keyboard and touch-screen capabilities. It provides users with the opportunity to customize their mobile with widgets and the freedom to run multiple applications at once.

According to Rick Gadd, vice-president, Motorola Canada Mobile Devices, with Motorola Milestone, Canadians will experience the web with lightning fast speeds and pages that show them more.

Milestone takes the power of Google (News - Alert) Search into the phone. Users will be able to search and retrieve applications, contacts, songs and more from the home screen. Depending on where the user is, Google will make location-based recommendations with local search as well. Motorola Milestone features a 3.7" WVGA display that provides a clearer screen with twice the resolution of its competitors. In addition, Milestone features superior processing speeds, Flash 10-ready HTML browsing and premium 3G+ connection speeds.

According to David Neale, senior vice-president of Product and Services at TELUS, TELUS' new 3G+ network gives Canadians access to a world-class selection of mobile devices like the Motorola Milestone. TELUS is committed to offering Canadians the most comprehensive and advanced smartphone line-up so that its customers can stay connected, informed and entertained wherever they go. A national telecommunications company in Canada, TELUS provides a wide range of communications products and services.

Motorola Milestone features the world's thinnest full QWERTY slider, a widescreen display as well as copy-and-paste capability. Both work and personal email can be pushed directly to Milestone through Exchange-server support and Gmail. In addition, seamless contact integration provides access to friends through Exchange, Facebook (News - Alert) and Gmail contacts.

Milestone's built-in 5 megapixel digital camera is equipped with AutoFocus, dual LED flash and image stabilization. In the case of video, Milestone records DVD quality footage with one-touch broadcast-quality playback and easy 3G or Wi-Fi YouTube uploads. Users of Milestone will be able to store their favorite movies, photos and music on its 16 GB of memory, which is expandable up to 32 GB. In addition, Motorola Media Link will connect Milestone to a PC and the Web, which provides the ability to manage, secure, share and extend media files.

Powered by Android (News - Alert) 2.0, Motorola Milestone provides superior call quality with CrystalTalk Plus that filters out background noise and enhances voice quality. It is possible to use the stereo Bluetooth to take calls and listen to music hands-free. In addition, Milestone will transform into a multi-media hub for movies, music and pictures when placed in its unique multi-media station.
