On-demand business intelligence (BI) company,
PivotLink has announced the availability of PivotLink BI for users of the
Salesforce CRM application, which is built on a cloud computing model.
This on-demand business intelligence solution has been certified for salesforce.com. PivotLink BI unifies all salesforce.com data and combines it with outside data. Also, it presents the information with dashboards and customizable reports.
With PivotLink’s on-demand offering, users can unify, store and analyze their data. Company officials said that Salesforce users can break through the Salesforce reporting silos and combine information across “any time period” and across “large data sets.”
Moreover, using drag and drop interface, users of Salesforce can build or modify their reports. Officials said that users can define their own metrics, analyze trends, and share their results in dashboards or in reports.
“This is a major departure from traditional approaches to business intelligence and data warehousing,” said Narinder Singh, chief marketing officer at Appirio, in a statement.
According to Singh, currently, most of the customers are searching for on-demand business intelligence tools. These tools, he believes, take the burden off the IT. Also, the tools provide a real-time aggregation engine, allowing users to create reports and analyze company information.
